Making sure you have complete coverage with cell phone carriers

It’s all well and good having the top of the range cell phone but service is equally important and now it’s time to look at the cell phone carriers. Who is best to rely on? Well that’s a question that can only be answered by you by determining what your requirements are.

When you look at the cellular phone manufacturers Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, LG, Sanyo, Siemens, Panasonic, NEC and think that’s me finished, think again, but it’s not all bad, you have plenty of options and some excellent free cell phone plans that also come with some great free cellular phones and camera phones.

Where will you be using the phone?

To make sure you choose the correct carrier think about where you will be using the phone. Will you be travelling from one state to another? or from one country to another? Not all cell phone carriers have good coverage in all areas. There is nothing more frustrating than trying to use your cell and have terrible coverage or worse again none at all.

Some phone carriers will attract you to great free offers in order to deter you from questioning them on service quality. If you intend to travel ask a friend or family who may have travelled to the same area that you are intending to go how their coverage is. You will at least get some honest valuable information. Ask what carrier they are with and check your cell phone comparisons.

Cell phone carriers are in a tough competitive market and the good news for you and I is the fact that all need to compete aggressively with one another thus reducing their prices and increasing their service level ability.

What other options are out there for 100% coverage

Let us be honest with ourselves, no industry is 100% and the cell phone industry is no exception. Some people will go down the road of using satellite phones. This can prove a little more expensive and maybe going a touch overboard unless you’re cellular phone is100% mission critical. The satellite option would be a necessity for the likes for climbers or people living in very remote regions.

When asking or researching the carriers, make sure you check out their roaming charges. They can vary considerably in price or some carriers will give excellent roaming options on their free phone plans while others will not. In a nutshell cell phone carriers are ever improving but are there to maximise their profits.

It’s up to you to research all your options.

Are they all the same?

Some carriers feed of one another while others can’t stand one another. Your choice depends once again on your requirement. Word of mouth is one way of finding out who is best in your area but be sure to do some of your own research. AT&T,          T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, Cingular, ALLTEL, Nextel, Sprint PCS are just some of the carriers to look into. No matter what type of phone you have camera phone GPS or PDA nothing counts unless you have the service to match the technology.
